Most recent (and one of the only) tablet endeavours. I have fugly handwriting, sob.
BUT ON TO THE IMPORTANT THINGS.
This is my entry for and their XIII-2 contest. Essentially you imagine anything you'd personally want in XIII-2.

So far XIII-2 is supposed to be five years later. (But who knows by the end of it -- we all know how SquEnix is.) Hope would be nineteen. That in itself is one of the most glorious things I've been told all year. So here's my headcanon. My heavily biased headcanon:

At nineteen, with his urges to be helpful and not burdensome, he learned more about machinery and such -- kind of like a mechanic. I've seen a few interpretations of Hope at an older age where he's taken up that kind of profession, and it makes sense: throughout the game he keeps involving machinery one way or another. (Piloting -- albeit badly -- the velocycle in the Hanging Edge, the two-legged digger thing in the Mahabara mines, etc.) His personality is essentially the same as the end of the game; he's grown up enough not to be whiny, but he's still a little pessimistic and kind of cheeky. At the same time, because he's the youngest (still) the rest of the crew like to poke and prod at him -- like his adorably boyish crush hero-worship of Lightning that develops through XIII. Because he's still trying to act like a grown-up, he still gets embarrassed easily. Yeah, he hit a growth spurt like every normal person too. By now he'd probably be about 5'8, 5'9? He's not a monster like Snow -- everyone knows Hope would grow up to be a string bean.
